Dodol, the toffee-like sweet confection during festivals

- Good Sharing for Ramadhan -

Dodol - one of the commonly served dishes during Islamic festivals like 'Iftar' meals on Ramadhan and on Hari Raya days as sweet treats for the kids!

It is a delicacy toffee-like confection make of coconut milk, jaggery, and sticky rice flour. Durian and pandan leaves may be added to make it more flavours and delicious.

During the holy month of the Ramadan, Muslim brothers and sisters are refrained from taking solid and liquid food.

Muslim families get up early for 'sahur', a meal eaten before the sun rises to prepare themselves for fasting. After the sun sets, the fast will be broken with a meal known as 'iftar'; or generally called "berbuka puasa" (i.e.  to open fast).

Dodol has become a popular Iftar dish these days as most children loves sweet dessert.
